Imagine being able to purse innovation…

…with the pace and agility of a startup, but with all of the resources and institutional knowledge of one of the world’s largest R&D organizations.

That is what Novartis has achieved with its Genesis Labs program, which provides selected teams of associates with dedicated time and funding to focus on the development and prototyping of their very own crazy transformative ideas.

“Using Planbox, we encouraged psychological safety with our colleagues who were willing to put themselves out there and propose what sometimes might seem like crazy transformative ideas on the platform,” says Aimee Reynolds, Genesis Labs Project Liaison, Novartis

About the Session

Launched in 2016 in Novartis’s research division, Genesis Labs has now expanded to the broader organization, seeking crazy transformative ideas from a network of more than 20,000 scientists, engineers, and clinicians from across Novartis.

During this master class, attendees hear from Ian Hunt and Aimee Reynolds, from Novartis’s Genesis Labs program, as they provide insights on how to create and scale an effective innovation program that encourages all employees to participate and feel safe while doing so.

In this session, you will:

  • Discover what it means to “unboss” and how unbossing teams can accelerate innovation.
  • Learn ways to develop, manage, and scale an innovation program in a large corporation.
  • Explore how an innovation management platform can bring together associates across global and organizational boundaries to nurture cocreation and develop game-changing concepts.
  • Find out how digital tools can be used to maintain creative momentum while working from home.
