Planbox is a software-as-a-service (SaaS). To use Planbox you need a Web browser and an Internet connection. We support the following Web browsers:

• Internet Explorer 8 and above
• Google Chrome
• Mozilla Firefox
• Opera
• Safari

If your organization is using an older version of Internet Explorer, you can install the Google Chrome Frame.

Planbox takes security seriously. You can be assured that your data is secure and kept confidential. Our security strategy includes:

• Secure Hosting: Planbox is hosted on Rackspace in the US.
• Backups: Backups are saved in different locations so your data is safe.
• Encryption: When you access Planbox, you can use an secure SSL connection. That can be turned on in your Settings and Account page.
• Secure Payments: Planbox is PCI compliant. You are assured any payment transaction is secure.
• Project-level Permissions: Planbox gives you flexibile permissions over project data. You have control over who sees what.

Planbox uses both leading edge and proven technology to provide you with the best user experience, and rock-solid reliability and performance.

On the back-end Planbox is built on Apache/PHP/MySQL. This infrastructure is also known as LAMP. It is proven, robust, secure and runs over half of all web sites in the world including Fortune 500 companies, financial and government institutions.

On the front-end Planbox uses jQuery and Backbone JS. Backbone JS is Javascript framework we use to implement MVC on the client side. We spend considerable efforts in augmenting Backbone JS with our own sauce. It is the secret to our fluid and widely loved User Interface.

Planbox has an API. It can help you integrate Planbox with your application.
